Editing is a crucial part of the filmmaking process, and it’s often where a film truly comes together. However, editing can also be a challenging and time-consuming task, which is why it’s always helpful to have some editing tricks up your sleeve to speed up the process and make your videos stand out.

That’s why I wanted to start a discussion about editing tricks. What are your go-to editing tricks that help you save time and create a more polished final product? Do you have any unique techniques that you like to use when editing?

Personally, one of my favourite editing tricks is to use jump cuts to create a fast-paced and energetic feel in my videos. I find that jump cuts can be a great way to keep the viewer engaged and make the video feel more dynamic.

Another editing trick I like to use is to add subtle sound effects to enhance the viewer’s experience. For example, I might add a sound effect of a door closing or footsteps to make a scene feel more immersive.

But I’m interested in hearing about your favourite editing tricks. What techniques do you like to use when editing, and why? Let’s start a discussion in the comments below, and share your favourite editing tricks with the group!
