    Bart Weiss is an award-winning independent filmmaker, director, editor, and educator, best known as the founder and director of the Dallas VideoFest. With a career focused on documentary filmmaking, he has also produced and directed content for television, including Frame of Mind on KERA TV in Dallas. His work has gained international attention, showcasing American documentaries in countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, and China through the U.S. State Department.

    Bart earned his MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University and has taught film and video at Texas A&M’s Visualization Lab, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Texas at Austin. He recently retired as an Associate Professor at UT Arlington.

    In addition to his filmmaking career, Bart is a prolific contributor to Student Filmmakers Magazine, where he shares his expertise through numerous educational articles, how-to guides, and tips on post-production, film festivals, and filmmaking apps and accessories.
