When Ricoh – a multinational industrial and commercial printing powerhouse – asked Blare Media to make a great video introducing their next gen Ri 2000 direct-to-garment printer, we jumped at the chance to make something innovative and interesting. We shot on the RED and utilized a Jib on set to get a lot of smooth and interesting shots moving around our large printer atop a rolling cart. We also used a special lens for our working printer extreme close up nuts and bolts shots, and it was the just right lens for those important shots. We also did extensive script assistance to get the shots and talent standups just right. The icing on the cake printed on a t shirt was strong talent Mindy Montavan, who channeled the printing entrepreneur who is so proud to take her game to the next level with this powerful time-saving new tool. Now, time to print some eye-popping shirts.
Chukchansi Gold is a highly decorated casino in the foothills outside of Fresno, California. It’s always a lot of fun to shoot casino commercials, especially when they’re put together by some of our favorite clients. The Fresno based agency JSA and Windsong Productions put this campaign together with the help of Blare Media who provided crew, cinematographer, and a Camera/Grip/Electric package. The dancing in the spot was real, no CG \ud83d\ude09 But seriously, it often takes a lot of choreography and effort to get everything just right when there are big spaces and set pieces like in these spots. We had a lot of fun shooting them and put plenty of effort into giving the campaign a look that felt unique but cohesive from dancer to dancer. It doesn’t always show up on screen, the thousands of decisions that are made to create a campaign, but we do our best to keep it fresh and original whenever possible.
Our team was thrilled to work with Trek Bicycle on this project. We love getting out into nature and capturing beautiful footage, and the new bike trail systems in Arizona and California were definitely worth documenting! We used our Sony A7s3 cameras on handheld gimbals for most of the shots, as well as our Mavic drones for aerial shots and GoPros for time-lapses. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and we feel lucky that we got to experience it firsthand while also doing what we love. We’re always excited to take on new challenges and produce high-quality content for our clients, and this was definitely one of those projects! Thanks, Trek Bicycle, for partnering with us on this adventure.
The Poverello House is an innovative service provider for people experiencing homelessness and/or in need of services like shelter, food, showers, clothing, substance abuse rehabilitation, and much more.
BLARE Media has been honored to make video content around their cutting-edge initiatives like the Village of Hope, a shelter/rehabilitation hybrid, and Pov’s sustainable energy and facilities investments. When Poverello decided to purchase airtime and make a long-form documentary program to educate the public and raise funds, we were even more honored that they chose us to be their production partner.
Featuring expert interviews at Harvard Medical School with Dr. JoAnn Manson, Dr. Kirsten Davison, Dr. David Ludwig, and Dr. John Ratey, along with testimonials of everyday Americans, we see the pain and heartbreak of the old-fashioned and ineffective “calories in, calories out” model, expose the fictions that led to it, and provide a proven and practical alternative.
Writer/director/editor Justin McAleece took on the project along with Founder of Wellness Engineering and NYTimes Bestselling author Jonathan Bailor and a whole crew of important contributors at Blare Media.
