  Due to the successes of the writers and commissioned films that have come through our fund since we started it in 2016, we have decided to run two short film funds this year.

  SFF2 will launch on July 15th and will run through until our Final Deadline of Oct 31st. Our winners will be announced on Dec 7th.

  The prizes:

  • Grand Prize - A Production Cash Grant of between $10-15K.
  • 2nd Prize - A Production Cash Grant of between $5-10K.
  • ARRI Rental will support the productions with free camera equipment*.
  • Other prizes include Judges Feedback, Script Development with our Team, Final Draft Software, Free Enrollment to our Ultimate Screenwriting Course.

  Plus, the best scripts will be sent out to our award-winning Judges, Industry, and Directors Roster.

  There are prizes for our TOP 15.

  Our funded short films have played at some of the top film festivals in the world, including Tribeca, BFI London, Austin, Cannes, Encounters, Palm Springs, and many others. Our writers have gone onto gain representation, sold screenplays, and been staffed on TV shows as a direct result of entering.

  During these difficult times, we are excited to commission two more standout short scripts for production.

  WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR 2020 SHORT FILM FUND WINNERS & TOP 5 FINALISTS.

   

  Our Judges have spoken & it’s time to congratulate the Winners.

   

  THE TOWN written by Lindiwe Makgalemele is our Grand Prize Winner and has been awarded a production grant of $15,000.

   

  In second place, LADY & LUCK written by Boris Vymenets has been awarded $5,000.

  We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who entered this year's Short Film Fund.

  2020 saw the highest number of submissions since we started our Fund in 2016. The quality increases year on year, making the task of narrowing it down to our Finalists an extremely difficult one. Our team and industry readers have evaluated submissions in every genre, from writers all over the world.

  This year we have expanded our film fund to award two production grants. One short film project will receive the maximum cash grant of $15,000; the second will receive a grant of $5,000.
